The strange presentation has sparked a frenzy among conspiracy theorists online – but it has also sparked skepticism.
A UFO researcher presented two allegedly “non-human” bodies to a crowd of stunned congressional officials in Mexico.
Jaime Maussan, who has led the decades-long investigation into the existence of extraterrestrials, and his fellow scientists presented two such bodies to the Mexican Congress on Tuesday.
The researchers claimed the bodies, presented in glass cases and supposedly recovered from Cusco, Peru, are not part of “our terrestrial evolution”, with 30% of their genetic makeup remaining “unknown”, according to Mexican media.
Carbon dating by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) found that the bodies, which have three-fingered hands, appear to have no teeth and stereoscopic vision, were more than 1,000 years old, Maussan said.
The strange presentation has sparked a frenzy among conspiracy theorists online – but it has also sparked skepticism.
It is noted that the specimens were coated with what appeared to be sand, which is unusual for fossils that have been analyzed.
But Maussan – who has nevertheless been identified with debunked alien theories in the past – insisted under oath on Tuesday: “These samples are not part of our terrestrial evolution […] These are not beings found after UFO debris. They were found in mines and later fossilized.”
He later added: “Whether they are aliens or not, we do not know, but they were intelligent and lived with us. History will have to be written from the beginning.”
“We are not alone in this vast universe, we should embrace this reality,” he said at the event.
