Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in a televised address that Azerbaijan has launched an armed ground operation in the Nagorno-Karabakh enclave and wants to “draw Armenia into hostilities”however, the Armenian Prime Minister stressed that the Armenian army is not participating in the fighting that has begun.
“Some forces, both internal and external, are trying to drag Armenia into war. Once again I confirm: There are no Armed Forces of Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh.”

“Azerbaijan launched a ground operation aimed at ethnic cleansing of Karabakh Armenians,” Pashinyan said.
He added that the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border remains “stable” and that Armenia “not involved in armed actions».
At the same time, he emphasized that calls are being made “from various quarters” for a coup in Armenia against the backdrop of the Azeri attack.
Pashinyan stressed that he is in contact with the leaders of the Karabakh separatists and expects Russian peacekeepers to act in order to stabilize the situation.
From their side the enclave’s separatist forces they said they were trying to “resist” the Azeri army which is trying to advance “deep” into the enclave, after Baku launched a military operation in the area.
“The armed forces of Azerbaijan are trying to advance in depth (…) The defense forces continue to resist the Azerbaijani offensiven across the contact line,” they reported to X.
Armenia has charged that Baku’s aim is to carry out “ethnic cleansing” in this disputed enclave in the southern Caucasus, which is inhabited mainly by Armenians.

“Azerbaijan launched a new large-scale attack against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, seeking to complete its political ethnic cleansings that follows,” the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
At the same time, Armenian diplomacy emphasized that Russian peacekeeping forces in the region must “stop the aggression” of Azerbaijan.
Baku launched a military operation today to retake the disputed enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh in the South Caucasus, which is inhabited mainly by Armenians.
