Swiss police today discovered three wounded people, one of whom later succumbed to his injuries, in the center of the town of Schaffhausen, near the German border, but the circumstances of the crime remain to be clarified.
Police did not say what kind of weapon was used, the nature of the injuries, the nationalities of the people involved or their ages.
“At the moment we cannot give any more information, as exactly how the events unfolded is still under investigation,” Schaffhausen police told AFP.
Shortly after 05:00 local time (06:00 Greek time), the police were informed that “two injured” were lying on the ground, they said in a statement.
When they arrived at the scene, the response forces found one man who had been seriously injured and another, more lightly. “Despite the resuscitation measures immediately applied by the police and the emergency service of Schaffhausen hospitals, the seriously injured person succumbed on the spot,” the police said.
Shortly afterwards, the police discovered, not far away, at the Schaffhausen station, a third person who had been injured and, according to the first evidence of the investigation, had been involved in the case.
How the events unfolded and in what context remains to be clarified. The investigation of the evidence is ongoing.
