At least three people have been killed and three injured in a shooting incident inside Bangkok’s Siam Paragon luxury shopping mallas announced by emergency services.

Thai police arrested him suspicious armed and according to her social media post this is a 14 year old.

The Thai PBS television station reported that five people were injured.

Thailand’s Central Investigation Agency posted a photo on its Facebook page of a man it says is the suspected gunman.

Chief Minister Sretha Thavisin expressed concern over the incident.

“I am aware of the shooting incident at Siam Paragon and have ordered the police to investigate the matter. My main concern is public safety.”wrote on social media X.

Footage, which has yet to be verified and uploaded to social media, shows people, including children, running out of the Siam Paragon mall and security guards helping them leave before the suspect’s arrest was announced.

One of these videos shows people taking refuge in a dark restaurant room. Reuters could not immediately confirm the information or authenticity of the videos.

Earlier, local station Channel 3 reported that sounds reminiscent of gunshots could be heard from inside the mall’s restrooms.

The television broadcast footage of long queues of cars forming outside the mall in pouring rain.

Gun violence is common in Thailand. A former police officer killed 22 children inside a kindergarten last year during a knife and gun attack, while in 2020 a soldier shot and killed at least 29 people and injured 57 during an attack which occurred in four different places in and around the city of Nakhon Ratchasima in the northeast of the country.
