The Basmani court of Moscow decided to remand the lawyer of the imprisoned Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, Igor Sergunin, for two months, on the charge of participating in an “extremist organization”

According to the Mediazona website, an investigation is also taking place in the Moscow “Dalet” association, in which Navalny’s lawyers participate. According to the publication, the investigation is also being conducted in the context of the case for participation in an extremist organization. The association’s board includes Sergunin, Lipster and another lawyer who had defended Navalny, Olga Mikhailova (not in Russia), the OVD-Info website reported.

“The main purpose of these investigations is to leave Alexei without legal support and communication with the world“, wrote Navalny’s partner, Georgy Alburov.

Leonid Volkov, another supporter of the politician, noted that Navalny will soon have to be transferred to a special status colony – “to an unknown place”. “This is a terrible step towards its complete isolation,” he added.
