The Israeli army today presented step-by-step the planning of the October 7 Hamas attack that left 1,400 dead.

The information was gleaned from instruction leaflets carried by Hamas members which participated in the attack and show the level of planning.

Concentration

The first directive concerns the gathering of hostages by groups of Hamas members at various points after the attack and killing of Israelis is complete.

Entry and control of the area

The second directive concerns the treatment of hostages imposed by the hand and blindfolding, intimidation by shooting and finally killing anyone who poses a threat to the operation.

Security

During the gathering of the hostages Hamas members would have to physically search the captives and confiscate IDs or any other evidence they were carrying. The plan called for the hostages to be used as human shields by gathering them in a spot where they would be visible while it would have to be preceded by a separation of men from women and children.

Supplies

The order calls on the gunmen to gather as much food and liquids as possible with strict instructions not to use their own supplies for the needs of the hostages.

Camouflage and cover

The gunmen have clear orders from the hierarchy not to reveal the number of Hamas members taking part in the attack and their weapons, not to reveal the dead and wounded among their ranks, and to have no communication with the outside world. Also, to cover the hostage transfer site and burn a large part of the site.

Contact

The gunmen are called to ensure the live conversations between the teams but the commanders in the field.

Live broadcast

Hamas members are urged to use local communications networks to transfer and transmit images from the field so as to save storage space and battery life in order to be used as much as possible.

Negotiations

The last order calls on the armed men not to engage in any negotiation.
