“The Israeli government welcomes the return of our citizens”Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement after the first 13 freed Israeli hostages entered back into Israeli territory.
“The Israeli government is committed to the return of all hostages and missing persons,” the announcement adds.
“Our citizens have undergone an initial medical examination and their families have been informed by the appointed officials that they have returned,” he concludes, confirming that 11 foreign nationals have also been released, citing 10 Thais and 1 Filipino national.

In a post on social media, he said that Israel “will carry on and do whatever it takes” to bring the remaining hostages in Gaza home.
We took the first important step – we continued and did everything necessary to bring the refugees home.
This is our duty for the refugees, for the children and for the nation of Israel.
