The conservative American political network led by billionaire Charles Koch announced that it is supporting Nikki Haley for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination ahead of the 2024 election.

The 88-year-old Coke’s political network – Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) – belongs to the so-called big financiers Tea Party of Republicans and is pushing for tax cuts and less government regulation.

Koch has made it clear that defeating former President Donald Trump in the race for the Republican nomination is a top priority, arguing that he will lose the November election to President Joe Biden, as he did in 2020.

“Nikki Haley: A proven leader who will keep her promises and restore the American dream” states the organization’s official announcement of support for Haley.

(AFP Action)’s endorsement will give the former South Carolina governor a boost among Republican candidates trying to challenge the nomination favorite, Donald Trump.

In addition to controlling tens of millions of dollars in campaign spending, Koch’s organization has staff of thousands of people across the countrywho will now promote Haley among potential voters.

However, it is far from certain that AFP’s endorsement will turn the tables, as Trump leads his Republican rivals by more than 40 points in most polls.

About 10 percent of Republicans who will vote in the primary election support Haley, according to an average of polls reported by the website FiveThirtyEight.
