Two more hostages released today, Thursday by Hamas, according to the Israel Defense Forces and the prime minister’s office and are now safe on Israeli soil, heading for the Hajerim base.

They are 21-year-old Mia Shem and 40-year-old Amit Soussana, as announced by the prime minister’s office.

“The government of Israel embraces the two hostages who have just been released. The government of Israel is committed to the return of all hostages and missing people,” the prime minister’s office said in a post on Platform X, adding that “together with all security services, it will help them and their families.”

As the IDF reported earlier in a statement, two hostages were handed over to the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip

“According to the information provided by the Red Cross, two Israeli hostages have been transferred to them and are on their way to Israeli territory”the brief announcement states.

A Hamas source told AFP earlier that they would release 10 more hostages today, including two with Russian citizenship. Yesterday, Hamas released two more Russian-Israeli women in favor of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It is not clear why these hostages are being released separately.
