The prisoner, who has not been named, had given Shmylo a mobile phone number on a piece of paper and she called him back with their conversations, as reported by sky news, of an enthusiastic and romantic nature.
He said the inmate contacted Shmylo “on a daily basis”, had phone sex with her and called her his “ma’am”.
However, the judges still note that at some point the phone calls to Shmylo take another turn with the inmate telling her they are friends and she has to accept it.
The inmate contacted the former prison officer on her birthday to wish her a “happy birthday, princess” and arranged for his mother to meet her, the court heard.
Shmylo was fired from the prison where she worked and denies dereliction of duty.
The trial continues.
