An 8-year-old boy from Illinois died tragically after being brutally abused by his parents.
The police found little Navin “skeletonized” and severely beaten while outside his room there was a sign that read “Don’t give him food.”
Navin Jones was spotted in this situation on March 29, 2022. He weighed only 30 kg and there was urine and faeces in his room.
Brandon Walker’s father currently faces up to life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder, while his mother Stephanie Jones she has already pleaded guilty to the heinous crime.
The 8-year-old failed to respond to treatments resulting in him dying in hospital after collapsing from malnutrition.
Prosecutors said the child’s room was in this deplorable condition while the rest of the house where his parents roamed was fully functional.
His mother faces at least 20 years in prison and he is expected to be sentenced next February.
The daily mail reports that the boy was cared for by his grandmother since he was a 5-month-old infant, however she had to go away for a while and when she returned to Illinois her parents refused to give her back. That’s when the woman became aware of something troubling and contacted the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, the Washington Police Department and the Peoria Division.
She was initially challenged, however months later after an anonymous complaint the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services decided to investigate the home until he revealed the sick environment the 8-year-old lived in, but because the child ‘assured’ them that he wanted to stay with his parents, they noted that it was safe so he continued to live with them!
After a few months the boy died in the hospital.
Brandon Walker’s trial is ongoing, after Stephanie Jones pleaded guilty to first degree murder today Thursday 12/14.
