“I expect that in the next 1-1.5 years, Erdogan will have completed his course for many different reasons,” said Mr. Syrigos.
Commenting on the indignation of the people due to poverty and misery, the professor explained that the mentality of the Turks is that they accept the “dovleti”, ie their state and do not react strongly, but this is not the case in elections.
In fact, Mr. Syrigos did not rule out the role of Erdogan’s Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar, in the next day in Turkey and in the ruling party.
“Let’s keep in mind that Akar, whom Erdogan’s anointed as No. 2 at the moment, is a man who has a great relationship with the Americans, he started out as a ‘Kemalist’, he is an American scholar and we can see him as the solution. “which will be promoted by the ruling party, trying to extract votes from Islamists who have left”, Mr. Syrigos explained.
