by

War scene has been set up on the border with Ukraine, with Russia launching large-scale joint exercises with Belarus on Thursday, while Kiev is responding with military exercises. The West is talking about a dangerous situation, at a time when the atmosphere at the meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia and Britain shows the gap between Moscow and Western countries. Diplomatic ferment is intensifying, but so far there is no tangible improvement in Ukrainian.

“Russia should not underestimate our unity and our determination,” said Chancellor Olaf Solz.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today accused his British counterpart of refusing to listen, in an episodic meeting they had, which showed the gap between the two countries over the Ukrainian crisis. In the joint press conference given by the two ministers, Lavrov said that in his meeting with Liz Trass he felt as if was in a deaf talk.

“As we tirelessly pursue the path of diplomacy to bring an end to tensions on the Ukrainian border, it is important to remember why we are doing this and why we are setting up this package of sanctions against a possible invasion. We will not accept a world in which a strong neighbor can intimidate and attack “to his neighbors,” Johnson told a joint news conference.

She sent the message via the Washington Post before the meeting tonight in Berlin with Olaf Solz, her Latvian counterpart and the President of Lithuania. Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Kalas has called on the West to supply weapons to Ukraine to defend itself against the Russian threat. The main recipient of this message is of course the German chancellor, who at every opportunity denies sending “deadly weapons” to Ukraine, citing the government coalition agreement.

During his visit to Moscow, Emanuel Macron met a different, tougher Vladimir Putin said two sources close to the French president in the Elysee. The Russian president spent much of the marathon talks he had with Emanuel Macron this week on the Ukraine crisis, talking about injustices dating back to the end of the Cold War, two sources close to the French president said.

Critical to Western countries like the US, and Britain, who talk about probability Russian invasion of Ukraine, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt ÇavuÅŸoλουlu appeared in an interview with TRT on Thursday. “Statements by some Western countries that Russia may invade Ukraine only lead to increased panic and deteriorating economic situation in the region,” he said, without naming the countries to which he refers.
