A few hours after the announcement of the sudden death of the actor Carl Weathers, Sylvester Stallone he bid an emotional farewell to his Rocky co-star with whom he was friends off the big screen.

The video posted by Sylvester Stallone on Instagram was filmed in front of a painting depicting the iconic ending of Rocky III.

The emotional statement of the Hollywood star

“Today is an incredibly sad day for me, I can’t explain to you how devastated I am. I try to keep it inside because Carl Weathers was such an integral part of my life of my success… When he walked into that room and I saw him for the first time I saw greatness but I didn’t realize how great he was… I would never have accomplished what we did with Rocky without him. His strength, his athletic ability, but most importantly his heart, his soul… It’s a terrible loss. And I’m standing here in front of this painting because it was probably the last time we were in the ring together and I’ll never forget it. It was magic, and I was so lucky to be a part of his life. Apollo, keep throwing punches.”

“We lost a legend yesterday. My life changed for the better the day I met Carl Weathers. Rest in peace Apollo, keep throwing punches,” Stallone captioned his post.

Carl Weathers, the famous actor who, among other things, played Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies, but also in the first Predator movie alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, he died in his sleep on Friday at the age of 76.
