Harry’s relationship with Charles is “strained and complicated”, his relationship with his brother William is “incredibly fractured”, says the BBC’s royal correspondent Danielle Relph.
Prince Harry’s return to London to meet his father may bring a bit of a “thaw” to their relationship, says the BBC’s royal correspondent Danielle Relph.
Harry reportedly spent around 45 minutes with the king yesterday at his London residence.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4 today, Relph described both Harry’s immediate return after his cancer diagnosis and the fact that Charles was waiting for him in London before he left for Sandringham as significant events.
The brief meeting may not say much, but it’s about a “father and son who have seen each other very little in the past four years.”
Their relationship was “incredibly strained and complicated,” says Relph, noting that it is significant that the king’s youngest son came to visit.
However, Harry’s relationship with his brother Prince William “still seems incredibly fractured,” he adds, noting there are no plans for the siblings to meet.
