US President Joe Biden today expressed his satisfaction that the special counsel concluded the investigation into the handling of classified documents without indicting him, stressing that “the matter is considered closed”.

These are documents that were classified as “top secret” and related to the period when Joe Biden was the vice president of the USA, which were found in 2022 at his residence in Delaware and in an office that he previously used.

“I was pleased to see that he came to the conclusion I always believed he would: that no charges would be brought in this case and the matter is now considered closed,” President Biden said in a statement released by the White House.

“I cooperated fully, did not put up obstacles and did not seek procrastination. In fact, I was so determined to provide the special counsel with everything he needed that I testified in person for five hours over two days on October 8 and 9 of last year, even though Israel had just been attacked and I was in the middle of handling an international crisis”, added the US president.
