The funeral and burial of Alexei Navalny took place today in Moscow presence of thousands of Russian citizens who they defied the Kremlin’s warnings.

Mother, father, relatives and friends bid farewell to the opposition leader but his wife, Yulia Navalnaya, and their children were absent.

Navalny’s widow, which blamed Putin for his death and announced that will continue his worksaid goodbye to her husband today with a touching video post on X.

“Lyosa (Alexei’s pet name) thank you for 26 years of absolute happiness. Yes, even the last three years of happiness. For your love, for always supporting me, for making me laugh even from prison, for always thinking of me.

“I don’t know how I will live without you, but I will try to, so that you are happy and proud for me up there I don’t know if I can handle it or not but I’ll try. We will definitely meet one day. I have so many stories to tell you” writes n Navalnaya

“I have saved so many songs on my phone for you, silly and funny, overall to be honest, great songs, but they are songs for us and I wanted so badly to give you guys a listen. And I would really like to see you listen to them, laugh and then hug me. I love you forever. Rest in Peace. Yulia Navalnaya” the post concludes.
