The British Data Protection Authority announced that examines newspaper reports according to which workers at the hospital where Kate, Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery in January, they attempted to gain access to her personal health record.
Her article Daily Mirror reported that management at the London Clinic, where King Charles also underwent surgery in January, are investigating claims that at least one member of hospital staff was caught trying to access Kate’s medical records.
A representative of the regulatory authority for the protection of personal data in Britain announced today: “We can confirm that we have received a report of a breach and we are evaluating the information we have received.”
Kensington Palace for its part announced that this “it’s a matter for the London Clinic.”
Kate, 42, underwent surgery for an unknown health problemwhich however is not linked to cancer, during her approximately two week stay in the hospital.
She retired from her public duties and from Kensington Palace has announced that Kate is not expected to return to official duties before Easter.
Her absence from public life has sparked speculation, rumors and conspiracy theories about her health.
Earlier in the month, kate apologized for tampering with a photo her husband william had takenheir to the throne.
On Monday, however, a video posted by the Sun newspaper on its website showed her walking and carrying shopping bags with William in Windsor near her residence.
Kensington Palace has not denied that the video is authenticbut has declined to comment on an issue she believes involves the private time of members of the royal family.
The London Clinic did not immediately respond to a request for comment
