Three people were killed and at least five were injuredin a Russian attack on northern Ukrainian city of Kharkivwhich hit an eight-story building and a factory, the head of the local police investigation department announced.
The Russian missile hit the industrial area in the northern Ukrainiankilling three civilians and injuring at least five others, and setting a publishing house on fire, local authorities said.
The Kharkiv region, which borders Russia in its northern part and stretches close to the front line, has been systematically attacked during the two-year Russian invasion. “According to initial information, it was a cruise missile. A big fire is raging where the publishing house is located” regional governor Oleh Sinekhubov said on state television.
A furniture and paint factory was also hit by the attackadded Serhii Bolvinov, head of the investigative service of the local police.
Rescuers and firefighters rushed to the scene and put out efforts to extinguish the fire. which extended to an area of more than 2,000 sq.m., the emergency services said.
They continue to work in the ruinsas ten people may be trapped, according to the governor.
