The Sun’s royal photographer Arthur Edwards has spoken about how much courage it takes for Kate Middleton to publicly reveal that she has been diagnosed with cancer.

“What courage it would take for poor Kate to tell the world she has cancer. Now we know that the only reason she kept it a secret is for the sake of her children,” he said.

“Cancer is a word that scares everyone and chemotherapy is quite a tough treatment and the body has to be strong to withstand it. Kate has a lot of will and determination which I have seen firsthand since the day I photographed her for the first time,” he added.

“With William’s support I’m sure they will fight. I wonder how the trolls who made such ridiculous claims about this amazing lady feel now. Let’s hope they’re feeling well and truly ashamed of the craziness of the past few weeks – and rightly so.

Now they know how serious her illness has been since January, I hope the madness behind the wild rumors and wild speculation ends so Kate can be alone with her husband and family while she makes a full recovery in her own time Arthur Edwards pointed out.

“When I heard the news yesterday, it took me back to the day I took their engagement photo. I remember asking William “why did you break up with Kate?” He said, “Because I had to be sure. I want this marriage to last forever.” Working with the couple on royal engagements, I see that their love is real. The way they always find time to turn and smile at each other and make small secret conversations reminds me of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh whose marriage lasted seven decades. This genuine love between William and Kate is what will see them through her ordeal and her adventure with cancer,” said the royal photographer.

“It didn’t surprise me at all that when Kate went into hospital, William immediately stopped work and took over the running of the family, taking the children to school, taking care of their homework, reading to them – all the things mum would do. Her statement in the video is wonderful, talking about her love for William and his love for her and the kids. However, while she mentioned having William by her side, Kate also had her thoughts on other people dealing with the same illness. In the last line of her incredible statement she asked other cancer patients to “please don’t lose faith or hope. You are not alone.” This shows how special and caring this woman is. Cancer affects many families, but how remarkable is the fact that with all the trolls and conspiracy theories swirling around her, Kathryn is thinking of other people,” says the photographer.
