Crime in Belgium linked to drug trafficking has increased
Two people killed by bullets in Brussels, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, during two different incidentsagainst the backdrop of an increase in crime related to drug trafficking, Agence France-Presse reported today, citing police sources.
The first shots, which left one person dead, were heard in Laeken, in the northern suburbs of the Belgian capital, according to a Brussels police spokesman.
A few hours later, a new shooting incident occurred in a neighborhood near the center, where a man was found seriously injured. He was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries, another police spokesman said.
Six shooting incidents that appear to are associated with it drug trade have been noted since the beginning of February in the Belgian capital, where problems related to the use of “crack” on the streets are increasing.
