Shocking is the video that came to the public and shows a train passenger being stabbed multiple times by an unknown person on a train in London on Wednesday afternoon.

The passenger was assaulted shortly after 4 pm local time ebut the train had just left from Shortlands train stationtowards Beckenham Junction.

Footage shared on social media shows someone in dark clothing, a face mask and a hooded jacket holding a large blade in his hand and furiously attacking another passenger.

One of the passengers on the carriage can be heard at the time shouting “fuck@@@ stop it now” before calling the police.

Other occupants are heard calling the police and na they beg the assailant to stop his attack.

The attack took place near one of the train’s exit doors. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is fighting for his life.

A witness, who was waiting at Beckenham Junction, told the Independent: “There was some blood and what looked like a discarded jacket and a plastic shopping bag.”

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward and so far no arrests have been made.

Steve White, managing director of Southeastern Railway, said that this is a “very serious attack”adding: “We are supporting the police in gathering evidence. Investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward.”
