The memoirs of Vladimir Putin’s number one rival, Alexei Navalny, who died in a Russian prison under unclear circumstances on February 16, will be published on October 22, 2024the widow of the late leader Yulia Navalny and the American publishing house Knopf announced today.
“This book is a testament not only to Alexei’s life, but also to his unwavering commitment to the struggle against the dictatorship, a struggle for which he gave everything, including his own life,” said his widow, Yulia Navalnaya, in her announcement about the book, which, as the publisher mentioned, will be published in Russian.
Yulia Navalnaya reported in a post on X that Alexei Navalny wrote his autobiography before he died earlier this year, that the book has been translated into 11 languages and will be released simultaneously in multiple languages on October 22.
Yulia Navalnaya also reported that Alexei Navalny started writing his book after his poisoning in 2020.
In the United States, the book will be released under the title “Patriot” by the publishing house Knopf in 500,000 copies of the first edition, according to a related article in The New York Times.
In the press release of the publishing house it is stated that the “memoirs express Navalny’s absolute conviction that changes should not be resisted and they will definitely come.”
