“We express our extreme concern over another dangerous escalation in the region,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Russia today expressed extreme concern over Iranian strikes against Israel and called on all parties to exercise restraintbut added that tensions will remain high until the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians is resolved.
“We are extremely concerned about another dangerous escalation in the region,” says the Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement on the Iranian attacks. “We call on all parties involved to exercise restraint.”
Russia pointed out that Tehran said the attack was carried out under the right of self-defense after Israel struck the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which Moscow condemned.
Russia, which has close relations with Iran, said the West blocked attempts at the United Nations Security Council to respond to the Israeli attack on the consulate.
“We have repeatedly warned that the numerous unresolved crises in the Middle East, primarily in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, which are often fueled by irresponsible provocative actions, will lead to an increase in tension,” the ministry said.
So far there has been no comment from the Kremlin.
However, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that a war between israel and iran will hurt joe biden’s re-election prospects president of the USA.
“America does not want a big war in the Middle East”, according to Medvedev. “The killings in Gaza are hurting Biden’s prospects in the election, and a war between Israel and Iran would bring additional uncertainty.”
