The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken they began their private meeting in Jerusalem.

On Israel’s side, Netanyahu is accompanied by Strategic Affairs Adviser Ron Dermer, National Security Adviser Tachi Hanegbi, Military Secretary Avi Gil, Political Adviser Ofir Falk, Chief of Staff Tachi Braverman and Ambassador to Washington Michael Herzog.
Blinken is joined by Ambassador Jack Lew, Special Envoy for Middle East Humanitarian Affairs Lisa Grande and Assistant Secretary of State for the Middle East Barbara Leaf.
Meeting with the president of Israel Isaac Herzog had earlier the US Secretary of State, who accused Hamas on the failure to reach an agreement on the hostages. As he said, the terrorist organization of Gaza is “the only reason this has not been achieved”.
“No delays, no excuses,” explained Blinken. “The time is now.”
The US State Department also blamed Hamas for the plight of Gaza’s civilians: “We also need to focus on the people in Gaza who are suffering in this Hamas-driven firefight and so we focus on getting them the help they need — the food, the medicine, the water, the shelter.”
