Footage from a house camera in the area shows Clifford calmly walking away from the crime scene, putting the crossbow in the trunk of his car
London, Thanasis Gavos
The suspected perpetrator of the brutal triple murder with a crossbow at a house in the Bushy area of Hertfordshire was arrested late Wednesday afternoon in Enfield, north London, after almost 24 hours of police manhunt.
26-year-old Kyle Clifford he was spotted hiding in a cemetery near the Gordon Hill area where he lived. Police searches at the cemetery followed a search of his home.
The 26-year-old is believed to have murdered her 61-year-old Carol Hunt and two of her three daughters, 28-year-old Hannah and 25-year-old Louise. This is the family of the well-known BBC horse racing commentator John Hunt.
Home camera footage in the area shows Clifford to calmly walk away from the scene of the crime putting the crossbow, the big bow, that he kept under a white sheet in the trunk of the car.
Watch video of the moment the assailant leaves the scene of the triple murder with the crossbow:
The police had released his photo, calling on the residents of the area not to approach him because he was probably still armed. Area schools were also asked to keep students inside school buildings.
The three victims were found bound and with horrific crossbow injuries, probably by Mr Hunt himself, who called the authorities and an ambulance, with paramedics unable to revive them.
The arrested person was seen being taken to an ambulance that had rushed to the cemetery where the police investigations were finally focused.
He is believed to be the former partner of the youngest of the victims. Mr Clifford had served in the British armed forces.
Clifford’s older brother is serving a 23-year sentence for murdering a young man. He had dragged him over and run over him with his car in a fit of rage when the victim had smashed a bottle on top of the attacker’s expensive vehicle.
Rest in peace Carol, Hannah and Louise 🕊️
Deepest condolences to John
