The killing of Haniya wants to bend the Palestinian people’s will, but Zionist brutality will not achieve its goals, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

Erdogan strongly condemned the killing of the Hamas leader in Tehran and added that it, along with the assassination attack on the Hezbollah commander in Beirut, were “dirty plans”.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, for his part, expressed regret over the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, whom he said he “martyred”adding that it has become a symbol of the Palestinian resistance.

“He had dedicated his life to the Palestinian cause and bringing peace and tranquility to Palestine,” Fidan said on social media platform X, accompanying his post with a photo of himself and Haniya.

Hamas political leader Ismail Haniya was assassinated in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

A Hamas official spoke of “cowardly action” by Israel, which “will not go unpunished”, according to the Al-Aqsa television network, which is close to the movement.
