The circumstances under which 29-year-old Pilar Marie Victoria died remain unknown
Shock in world volleyball. The 29-year-old player of the Puerto Rico national team, Pilar Marie Victoria, who was due to play for Nilüfer Belediyespor in Turkey this season was found dead in her apartment in Bursa on Thursday afternoon.
The circumstances under which the 29-year-old volleyball player died remain unknown, while an investigation has been launched by the prosecutor’s office.
According to Turkish media, the 29-year-old was allegedly taking medication for insomnia.
The Puerto Rico international was born in 1995. She played for Beziers Angels in France and then transferred to the Turkish team Nilüfer Belediyespor.
“We will always remember her contributions to our team and community in the short time we had the opportunity to work with her. We extend our condolences to her family, relatives and friends.” the Turkish team said among others.
The exact cause of death of the 29-year-old woman will be established after a forensic examination.
