Typhoon Yagi is the strongest to hit Asia this year according to meteorologists
His passing typhoon Yagi from its northern part Vietnam resulted in the death of 63 people, while another 40 are still missing, the Asian country’s government announced today, revising upwards the previous death toll of 59.
Flooding and landslides caused by the typhoon, the strongest to hit Asia this year according to forecasters, also injured another 752 people, Vietnam’s disaster management authorities said.
The fury of the typhoon brought down a busy bridge in northern Vietnam. Footage captured by a car’s dashboard camera shows the moment the Phong Chau Bridge collapsed yesterday, Monday.
Several vehicles that were on the bridge when it was cut in two fell into the water, and 13 people are missing, according to the BBC.
