Another 6 Palestinians were killed in an airstrike on a house belonging to the Bassal family in the Zeitoun neighborhood in the southern part of Gaza City.
The district has been a frequent target of Israeli military operations since the start of the war, which was triggered on October 7 by an unprecedented attack by militants of the Islamist Palestinian movement Hamas on Israeli soil.
Two people were also killed in an airstrike on the home of the Abu Saar family in Rafah, on the southern edge of the Gaza Strip, according to the civil protection service of the Palestinian enclave, which is controlled by Hamas.
The October 7 attack by Hamas militants in Israel left 1,205 people dead on the Israeli side, most of them civilians, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli figures.
251 hostages were also captured in this attack, of which 97 remain in the hands of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Of these, 33 have been declared dead by the Israeli army.
At least 41,226 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military retaliatory operations in the Gaza Strip, according to a tally released today by the Health Ministry of the Hamas government in the Palestinian enclave.
