Airlines Lufthansa and Air France announced on Thursday that they are extending the suspension of their flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut due to heightened tensions in the region.
The French carrier informed AFP that for “destination security” reasons, the suspension of flights from Paris to the Lebanese capital and the Israeli metropolis is being extended “until September 20”.
Lufthansa, for its part, extended the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until at least 24 September and to Beirut until 26 October. The German airline has announced that it has suspended flights to Tehran, the capital of Iran, until at least September 24.
On the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, Delta Air Lines announced yesterday that it has extended the suspension of the New York-Tel Aviv route until the end of this year. It was initially suspended from July until the end of October, due to “ongoing conflicts in the region”.
