Dozens of members ofPeckerwoods“, a white supremacist gang, faced criminal charges Wednesday in Californiamainly for drug trafficking, in the context of a “critical blow” to this neo-Nazi organization, announced the Ministry of Justice of USA.

Large quantities of drugs, including fentanyl – a synthetic opioid whose trafficking claims tens of thousands of lives each year in the US – and illegally obtained weapons were seized in coordinated police raids on the “Peckerwoods of the San Fernando Valley”, near Los Angeles .

“The violent racist ideology and extensive criminal activities of the Peckerwoods posed a serious threat” to the citizens of the area, said federal prosecutor Martin Estrada, calling the gang a “destructive force.”

The case file against 68 defendants was revealed yesterday. It includes charges of extortion, drug trafficking, fraud and gun violations, among others.

According to American justice, the Peckerwoods gang is under the orders of the Aryan Brotherhood, a larger white racist organization, present especially in prisons, which has allied itself with the Mexican Mafia gang, also present in prisons, which controls many groups of Latin American criminals who operate typically on California roads.

Members of the Peckerwoods gang are generally tattooed with Nazi symbols, or display them, including swastikas, the number 88 (which is the phrase “heil Hitler” in code) or even German World War II flags.

“The Department of Justice has dealt a critical blow to the Peckerwoods gang of the San Fernando Valley,” Secretary Merrick Garland said in a statement.
