With Ukraine, we stand firmly on the side of freedom and democracy. “Ukraine is part of our European family,” said Michel Michel in his letter. It also emphasizes that EU showed unity and strength in response to Russia’s aggression. “We have imposed the harshest sanctions on Russia ever. The EU and its Member States provide coordinated humanitarian, political, economic and material support to Ukraine. “Member States are also showing great solidarity by hosting countless people fleeing the war,” the letter said.

“In recent years, faced with multiple crises and challenges, we have committed ourselves together to an ambitious strategic agenda. “In the light of recent events, it is more urgent than ever to take decisive steps towards building our sovereignty, reducing our dependencies and designing a new growth and investment model,” said Charles Michel.
The Summit will begin on March 10 at 6:30 p.m. (Greek time) with an exchange of views with the President of the European Parliament. The first day will discuss the situation in Ukraine, as well as the issue of defense and energy. On March 11, the “27” will discuss the “new growth and investment model”, in the presence of the President of the European Central Bank and the President of the Eurogroup.
