US authorities have announced a $10 million reward for information about the Russian blog Rybar, which Washington says is trying to destabilize the US amid an election campaign.

Nine people are named in a release from the Rewards for Justice program, an “anti-terrorism” intelligence-gathering effort under the State Department.

Among the suspects accused of running Rybar’s “malicious influence operations” is Mikhail Zvinchuk, the founder of the blog and channel on the Telegram platform, who is believed to have close ties to the Russian military.

More than 1.3 million people follow Rybar’s information on the armed conflict in Ukraine. But, US authorities say, this particular blog is not limited to that.

“Rybar operates the #HOLDTHELINE and #STANDWTHTEXAS propaganda channels on social media sites that promote political interests of the Russian government in the US,” according to the Rewards for Justice program.

In its statement, Rybar seeks to “sow discord, incite social division, inflame partisan and racial divisions, and encourage hatred and violence in the United States.”
