Dramatic appeal to the UN Security Council for the release of the hostages shocking with the descriptions of what he experienced.
An Israeli hostage who was brutally raped and tortured at the hands of her captors, members of the Hamas organization, recalled her horrific ordeal to the UN, and called for the release of the remaining hostages in Gaza.
Lawyer Amit Susana was on sick leave at her home in Kibbutz Kfar Azza on the morning of October 7, 2023, when Hamas gunmen stormed her home and kidnapped her. Israeli security cameras captured how fiercely she resisted, kicking and punching, until a group of terrorists had to carry her across the border into Gaza.
He was released about 55 days later along with several other hostages. On Wednesday he made a dramatic appeal to the UN Security Council for the release of the hostages, shocking with descriptions of what he experienced.
“I was alone, chained at the ankles, unable to move and forced to beg to use the bathroom,” she said.
“I was sexually assaulted by a Hamas terrorist who was guarding me. He forced me into the shower, following me carefully with his gun pointed at me. His heavy breathing and predatory look were terrifying… I was powerless to stop him.”
“I had no one to comfort me, and I had to ‘act wise’ for the man who had just abused me in the most horrible way.”
Susana continued: “A few days later, I was transferred to a new location, under the surveillance of other Hamas terrorists… In this new place, I was tortured – I was hung upside down, beaten and humiliated. Every moment I was afraid for my life.”
He then made an impassioned appeal to the 15-member UN Security Council to intervene to end hostilities in Gaza and Lebanon and secure the release of the remaining Israeli hostages.
“Act immediately to secure the release of those still in captivity. Each passing day causes them further psychological damage and endangers their lives. Act before it’s too late. Please do not turn a blind eye to the horrors that are being inflicted on innocent citizens,” he said.
“It is your responsibility to protect human rights, fight terrorism and bring perpetrators to justice… Secure the freedom of the hostages, and ensure that no one else suffers such a fate.”
