The Russian Foreign Ministry is “concerned” about a possible “explosive escalation” after the Israeli raids on Iranian soil and calls on the sides to show restraint.

“We are extremely concerned about the current explosive escalation between Israel and the Islamic Republic that poses real threats to stability and security in the region. We ask all interested parties to show restraint,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

In a message to X, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz warned Tehran to avoid any escalation.

“My message to Iran is clear: the massive escalation reactions must not continue. This has to stop now. This will open up the possibility of peaceful developments in the Middle East.”

Lebanon’s foreign ministry condemned the Israeli airstrikes, calling them a violation of Iranian sovereignty and a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.

Egypt has expressed serious concern over the escalation in the Middle East, including the Israeli airstrike against Iran, and condemns all actions that threaten regional security and stability, through a Foreign Ministry statement.

A Saudi official said Saudi airspace was not used during the Israeli raids last night, while a Jordanian military source said warplanes from rival regional forces were not allowed to cross Jordanian airspace.
