The second incident comes in addition to one in which Spirit Flight 951 was forced to divert to the Dominican Republic after being hit by gang fire over Haiti
A second US commercial airliner came under gang fire as it flew over Haiti.
JetBlue Flight 935 from Port-au-Prince to New York was hit by a bullet shortly after takeoff — the same day a Spirit Airlines plane was also attacked over the Haitian capital.
An investigation conducted after the plane took off at John F. Kennedy Airport revealed that the plane had been hit by a bullet, JetBlue said in a statement.
The second incident comes in addition to one in which Spirit Flight 951 was forced to divert to the Dominican Republic after being hit by gang fire over Haiti.
It is the third time in just a few weeks that aircraft traveling over the Haitian capital have come under gang fire.
Last month, a United Nations helicopter was hit by bullets and forced to return to Toussaint Louverture International Airport while flying over Port-au-Prince.
