Russians have killed more civilians than soldiers, says Ukrainian Defense Minister

by

Russian troops have invaded Ukraine and killed more Ukrainian civilians than soldiers, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said today.

“I want this to be heard not only in Kyiv, but all over the world,” he said.

Russia blames Ukraine for failing to build “humanitarian corridors” and denies targeting civilians.

Moscow describes its actions in Ukraine as a “special operation” aimed at disarming Ukraine and ousting leaders it describes as neo-Nazi.

UN: More than 2.5 million people have fled Ukraine

More than 2.5 million people have fled Ukraine to date, the UN refugee agency said on its website today.

That translates to about 200,000 extra refugees from the International Organization for Migration’s latest report on the period until yesterday, March 10th.

Separately, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said today that at least 1.85 million people had been displaced inside Ukraine.
