Footage shows the tank blowing up three armored trucks and two tanks on a road in eastern Ukraine near the city of Kurakhove
The moment a German-made Leopard tank of the Ukrainian 33rd Division single-handedly confronts a convoy of Russian armored personnel carriers, a video released by the Ukrainian military shows.
Footage shows the tank blowing up three armored trucks and two tanks on a road in eastern Ukraine near the city of Kurakhove.
The vehicles caught fire after taking heavy hits, with smoke billowing into the sky as Russian soldiers tried to escape.
The fleeing soldiers were killed a short time later, according to the Ukrainian army unit that posted the video on Telegram.
Warning, the video contains harsh images:
The video comes as Putin’s troops have suffered “unimaginable losses” in their counteroffensive in the Kursk region, according to the X WarMonitor account.
On Monday, Russia suffered its highest casualties in Ukraine so far, with 1,950 soldiers killed in just 24 hours, the Ukrainian military said.
The record number of soldiers killed in one day is a fresh humiliation for Putin after his two-day counteroffensive in Kursk last weekend ended with 28 tanks destroyed and 100 Russian soldiers dead, according to reports.
The counter-attack comes after Donald Trump won the US election, having boasted that he could end the war “in a day”. Kiev now faces the prospect of the “cannula” of America’s massive military funding drying up under its presidency.
Footage shows Russian armored vehicles, each carrying around 30 soldiers, driving over mines in Kursk before they exploded, with some wounded soldiers crawling out of the wreckage as the smoke cleared.
