Russian rockets at an air base in Kiev – Bombing of a mosque with 80 civilians in Mariupol – All the latest developments

by

A barrage of bombings has been unleashed by Russian troops in recent hours in areas around Kyiv, Mariupol and Kharkiv.

The British Ministry of Defense on Saturday morning spoke of the continuing fighting northwest of Kiev, noting that the bulk of the Russian ground forces are now about 25 kilometers from the center of the Ukrainian capital.

He added that “elements of the large Russian phalanx north of Kiev have dispersed, possibly to support a Russian attempt to encircle the city.”

The ministry said in a statement that the “division of the phalanx could be an attempt by the Russians to reduce their vulnerability to the Ukrainian counterattack, which has cost the Russian forces dearly.”

At the same time, tanks and artillery continue to pound places that were already under siege by bombardment, which the inhabitants of the southern port city of Mariupol could not bury their dead.

Meanwhile, an operation to evacuate civilians from various parts of Ukraine is under way.
