Israeli warplanes bombed at least three airbases in Syria today, destroying dozens of planes and helicopters, in the heaviest wave of attacks Israel has launched against such targets since the ouster of the Assad regime, Reuters news agency reported, citing two sources in the Syrian security forces.

In particular, the Reuters sources say that the Qamishli airbase in northeastern Syria, the Him Sinsar base in Homs province and the Aqraba airport southwest of the capital Damascus were hit.

Israeli airstrikes also targeted the Syrian Center for Scientific Studies and Research, in the northern part of Damascus, as well as electronic warfare facilities near the Sayida Zeinab suburb of the Syrian capital.
