At least 15 military aircraft at Syria’s Marj Ruhayyil base were targeted in a series of airstrikes, according to a CNN analysis of satellite images obtained by Planet Labs. The attacks also appear to have targeted the base’s infrastructure, according to CNN.

The facility, located 30 kilometers south of Damascuswas home to a unit of Mi-25 “Hind” helicopters, as seen in satellite images collected by Planet Labs on December 3 and in Maxar images from earlier this year.

It is recalled that in recent days, the Israeli military has undertaken a concerted effort to destroy Syrian military targets, carrying out attacks on air bases, ports and weapons depots throughout the country. The Israeli attacks were intended to eliminate strategic military assets of the Assad regime, with the intention of preventing them from falling into the hands of adversaries. According to a statement from the army, until Tuesday they had taken place about 480 attacks in total.
