Moscow invests heavily in peace talks with Ukraine, Kremlin says

by

The Kremlin announced today that Russia has invested too much energy in talks to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine, which could very quickly end the Russian invasion of the country.

“Our delegation is making a colossal effort and appears more prepared than the other side,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov.

“If we agree on a document, if all its terms are met and implemented, then it can very quickly stop what is happening,” he continued.

When asked about their article Financial Times“Ukraine and Russia have made significant progress in drawing up a peace plan,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

Peshkov also called the characterization “unacceptable”war criminalUsed by US President Joe Biden against his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Peshkov added that the US has no right to reprimand Russia as it has been involved in many conflicts.

At the same time representative of the Kremlin estimated that many people in Russia turn out to be traitors, referring to those who quit their jobs and leave the country.

Peshkov made the comment after Putin yesterday sternly warned the Russian “traitors”, whom he said the West wanted to use as a “fifth phalanx” to destroy Russia. The Russian president said that Russia would undergo a natural and necessary “self-purification” as its citizens would be able to “separate the real patriots from the waste and the traitors.”

“In these difficult times (…) many people show their true character. “Too many people are proving to be, as we say in Russian, traitors,” the Kremlin spokesman said today.

“They are disappearing from society. Some people leave their jobs, some leave their active working life, some leave the country and move to others. “This is how this liquidation is done,” Peshkov stressed.

Moscow also rejected the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which on Wednesday asked Russia to immediately suspend its military operations in Ukraine.

“We can not take this decision into account,” Peshkov said, stressing that the two sides – Russia and Ukraine – would have to agree so that the decision could be implemented.

He even concluded that any deferral of interest payments on foreign bonds will be completely artificial.

“The fact is that from the beginning we have stated that Russia has the necessary resources and the ability to avoid a default, there can be no default,” said the Kremlin spokesman.

“Any payment defaults that may occur will have a completely artificial character,” he noted.

He described Vladimir Putin and Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Pridas as “war criminals”, agreeing with Joe Biden.
