London, Thanassis Gavos
Buckingham Palace announced on Sunday morning that Queen Elizabeth would not be able to attend a memorial service for the victims of the London Cenotaph due to a back problem.
The annual “Sunday Memory” was announced a few days ago that it would be the first public event attended by the 95-year-old monarch, almost a month after the recommendation of her doctors to rest.
It is believed that the back problem is not related to the unclear health issue that led to the recommendation for rest, the cancellation of the Queen’s obligations and an overnight stay in a private clinic in London last month.
The announcement of the Palace states: “The queen, having a pull on her back, decided in the morning with great regret that she will not be able to attend today’s Sunday Memorial Ceremony at the Cenotaph. Her Majesty is disappointed that she will miss the ceremony “.
The Crown Prince of Wales, Charles Charles, will lay a wreath at the Queen on behalf of the Queen. He will be accompanied by his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge William and Kate Middleton.
The queen hopes to complete her scheduled light duties this week.
