The Sicilian Mafia has been trying to re -establish Palermo’s “Supreme Executive Council” lately, known as “Coupola”
An operation against the Sicilian Mafia (known as Koza Nostra) is currently being carried out by the Palermo prosecutor’s office.
A total of 181 arrests have been ordered. They are “godfathers”, members of organized crime and criminals who were removing money from businessmen and traders.

Recently, about 20 Sicily mobsters have been released on leave or because of good behavior and the families of the victims are afraid of their return.
According to information so far, Cosa Nostra has recently made continuous efforts to re -establish the “Supreme Executive Council” of the Palermo area, known as “Coupola”, which has been decimated by continuous police and court investigations. Today’s business involves more than 1,200 carabinieri from all over Sicily.

Those detainees are accused, inter alia, of participating in a criminal organization, drug trafficking and arms, attempts to murder money and illegal gambling organization.
