“Our position is clear and unified: we want a strong and stable peace in Ukraine.”

This is emphasized in a statement issued via X, shortly after the end of today’s Ukrainian conference meeting, French President Emmanuel Macron.

The French president states that “we are on the side of Ukraine” and will assume all the responsibilities that are appropriate to us “to secure peace and security in Europe”.

Emmanuel Macron also notes that “we have the same goal as President Trump, that is, to put an end to the Russian war, for three years,”.

Continuing, the French president emphasizes that in the context of trying to find a peaceful solution, “Ukraine should be present and its rights.” It also states that achieving peace should be of constant character and be accompanied by strong and reliable guarantees and that European concerns have to be taken into account.

Concluding the French president reiterates that “we are convinced of the need to increase our defense spending and abilities”, noting that decisions will be made in the coming days and weeks in this direction.
