A demonstrator dressed in Pikatsu uniforms joined thousands of protesters who took to the streets to express their anger for the arrest of Constantinople Mayor Eremm Imamoglu.

The activist dressed in Pikatsu was seen to demonstrate and later flee when police officers and vehicles fired water rushed to dissolve the crowd.

So far, almost 1,900 people have been arrested, according to authorities.

The arrest of Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu last week has caused a national outcry. He denies the charges of corruption attributed to him.

Protesters argue that Imamoglou’s arrest had political incentives, but Erdogan described the demonstrations as a “violence movement” that “disrupts peace”.
