Pakistan officials claim that they have rejected five Indian aircraft and a drone – artillery fire along the Cashmare Line
In a dramatic escalation of tensions in the Kashmir area, the Indian Armed Forces announced that they had launched a missile attack called “Sindoor Operation”, with targeted blows against “terrorist infrastructure on the territory of Pakistan” and in the occupied Pakistan. In particular, New Delhi announced that it targeted nine locations, but did not hit Pakistan’s military facilities.
Immediate was Pakistan’s response, with a spokesman for the country’s army telling Reuters that Islamabad rejects five Indian Army aircraft “inside Indian airspace”, namely three Rafale, one Su-30 and one MIG-29, while other officials have been rejected. Reuters was unable to confirm the claims of aircraft crashing.
In addition, the army spokesman said there were fierce exchanges of artillery fire between the two military forces along the Kashmir Truce Line.
The Pakistani Army spokesman said India had launched a total of 24 blows in six areas, using various weapons. The blows occurred in areas of Pakistani Kashmir and two within Pakistan’s territory, in Punjab province and specifically in eastern Ahmadpur and Mourinke.
It is noted that India’s blows are the deepest in the territory of Pakistan that has been carried out by New Delhi after the 1971 Indopakistani War.
Pakistani Army spokesman also added that on the basis of at least the report so far eight people have been killed, 35 have been injured and two are missing from Indian blows, and two mosques have been hit. He also noted that all the targets affected were civilian positions rather than military installations, stressing that the New Delhi’s claim that “targeting terrorist positions is false”.
He announced earlier that Islamabad’s response is already underway, which was also confirmed by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Sahbaz Sarif.
The local prime minister of Punjab province has announced that the area has been declared a state of emergency while hospitals and security forces are on the highest alert amid escalating tension with India.
Meanwhile, senior Indian officials have informed their counterparts to several countries about the business made by New Delhi, according to a senior official in the Indian government cited by CNN.

Subsequently, Pakistan’s military spokesman initially said that India had launched missile attacks in five locations in total, saying that Pakistan would respond.
Speaking to Geo News, a spokesman for the Pakistani Army also said that no Indian aircraft had entered Pakistani airspace while no Pakistani military establishment was hit.
In particular, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sarif Sodi told Ary News that the Pakistani Air Force has quickly reacted, activating its defense systems and preventing any Indian aircraft from penetrating the Pakistani airspace.
At the same time, Pakistan’s Minister of Defense Huza Asif told the Geo TV television network that India launched its attack by launching rockets from its own ground, avoiding entering the Pakistani airspace. According to Asif, the blows hit residential areas, denying India’s claim that it was targeting “terrorist camps”.

In Pakistan, the National Security Committee, a body consisting of leading political and military officials, which meets only in extreme cases, in the midst of military escalation with India, said in Pakistan in Pakistan, which is announced.
Meanwhile, a representative of the Indian Army said that 3 Indian citizens killed In a bombing of Pakistani troops in Kashmir, according to Reuters.
The time of the escalation
The attack on Pachalgam, which took place on April 22, 2025, resulted in the deaths of 26 people, mainly tourists, and triggered a significant escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan.
After the attack, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Monti accused Pakistan without evidence and “sworn in retaliation”, stating that India would identify and punish terrorists and those behind them.
In response to the attack, India retaliated against Pakistan, including the ban on mooring Pakistani ships in its ports, the imposition of a complete ban on all imports directly or indirectly by Pakistan and the suspension of postal services by the country.
Both Pakistan and India have also closed their air spaces.
In addition, India announced that it is suspending the power of the 1960 Indian waters, which governs the sharing of the Indus River system between the two countries, and downgraded diplomatic relations with Pakistan by declaring the defense advisers to the new Pakistani Non.
Pakistan has retaliated by suspending trade with India and warned New Delhi that any violation of internal navigation or any military unfortunate action would cause its response.
Kashmir Dangerous Treatment
Kashmir is one of the most dangerous outbreaks of tension in the world. The area is partially controlled by India and Pakistan, but both countries are claiming it as a whole.
The two nuclear forces have been involved in three wars for this mountainous area by their independence from Britain almost 80 years ago.
Tuesday’s military blows have been the most serious military action in the region since 2019, when Indian fighter jets have launched air strikes on targets within the Pakistani territory, then accusing Islamabad of suicide attacking a trapped vehicle that killed at least 40 Indians.
Pakistan has in recent years focused on tackling a deep economic crisis and political instability, while India has turned to strengthening its relations with Western countries, including the United States, upgrading its geopolitical role.
The new escalation brings to light chronic competitions and fragile balances between two nuclear forces, one of the most strategic and political charged areas in the world.
India military superiority
In any conventional conflict and based on the numbers of the two countries’ military forces, India seems to be superior to Pakistan.
India’s defense budget is nine times larger than that of Pakistan, according to this year’s edition of “The Military Balance”, an evaluation of the Armed Forces by the International Institute of Strategic Studies, as noted with CNN
This budget supports an active Indian military force that has almost 1.5 million soldiers, compared to just 660,000 in Pakistan.
On land, the India army, consisting of 1.2 million troops, has 3,750 tanks and more than 10,000 cannons, while Pakistan has only 2/3 of India’s battle tanks and less than half of the new guns in the new Delhi arsenal.
At sea, the advantage of the Indian Navy is overwhelming. It has two aircraft carriers, 12 destroyers with directed rockets, 11 frigates with directed rockets and 16 underwater. On the contrary, Pakistan has no aircraft carrier or destroyers with directed missiles, while the backbone of its navy is 11 smaller frigates with directed rockets. It only has half the submarines number from those of India.
In the air, both countries are largely based on Soviet era aircraft, such as the MIG-21s available in India and the Chinese J-7 (corresponding to the MIG-21) available in Pakistan.
India, however, has begun investing in the multiple role of French -made Rafale aircraft, with 36 already in service, according to “The Military Balance”.
Pakistan, on the other hand, has added Chinese J-10 Chinese aircraft, already having 20 of them in service.
Although Pakistan still has dozens of F-16 US fighters, the backbone of its Air Force are now the JF-17s, which have been developing with China since the early 2000s. About 150 such aircraft are in active service.
On the other hand, the Russian-built aircraft play an important role in the India Air Force, which has more than 100 MIG-29 fighters, as well as over 260 SU-30 aircraft.
As far as the nuclear capabilities of the two countries are concerned, they are not much different. They have about 50 soil-soil launchers each, with India but having ballistic missiles larger than Pakistan.
