Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski today accused Russia of playing a “dirty and political” game around the impending exchange of prisoners, which Moscow and Kiev are accused of disturbing.

“The Russian side, as usual, is trying to play a dirty and political game,” Zelenski said in his evening speech, adding that if Russia does not comply with the agreement, it would “greatly doubt” the diplomatic efforts for the end of a war.

“The important thing is to get the result, to ensure that people return home. We believe that exchanges will continue and do everything for it.”

The Ukrainian president pledged to continue to exert pressure on prisoners’ exchanges with Russia and said that any non -compliance by Moscow of humanitarian agreements is at stake in the efforts of the US and other countries to end the war.

Zelenski made these statements the day after the accusations of Russian officials that Ukraine that she is postponed indefinitely the new exchange of prisoners. A Ukrainian official has already rejected the Russian claim.

Speaking in his evening video speech, Zelenski said Ukraine has not yet received the complete list of prisoners to be released under the agreements reached in talks in Turkey.

“If the Russians do not comply with the agreements even on humanitarian matters, this is largely doubted by all international efforts – including these United States in terms of talks and diplomacy.”

US President Donald Trump has put pressure on both Ukraine and Russia to proceed with a solution. Ukraine has stated that it supports the US call for a 30 -day ceasefire, while Russia says certain conditions must be met first.

Concluding his speech, Zelenski called on the Ukrainians to be very careful in warnings of air raids after heavy Russian air strikes. “In the coming days we have to pay attention to warnings for air raids,” he said. “Take care, take care of Ukraine”
