The British Ministry of Defense reported in a nightly news that more than a thousand mercenaries of the Russian private military company Wagner Group are expected to be deployed in Ukraine to undertake combat combat operations.
Among them are believed to be leaders of the mercenary organization.
The organization is already present in Eastern Ukraine, the British Ministry noted.
He added that because of the heavy military casualties and the hardships of the invasion, it is highly likely that Russia will have to change the priorities of the Wagner Group’s mission, focusing on Ukraine over operations in Africa and Syria.
It is recalled that for weeks the British Ministry of Defense had warned that the Russians would try to make up for the heavy losses of their troops in Ukraine, including with mercenaries.
The Wagner Group, according to a Times article weeks ago, is already embroiled in an assassination attempt on President Zelensky.
The group has been accused of atrocities in Mali, Libya and Syria.
